One thing that I can confidently say is not my counselor strong suit is decorating my bulletin boards. But in the past few years, I’ve tried to go with things that can stay up for long periods and are both visually appealing and useful. This is currently on the bulletin board in my office! It sits on the wall behind my group table, and kids use it constantly. They can try new things, use it as a reference point, and identify strategies that are helpful for them.

This is a great place for students to pause for a moment and check in with themselves! They can do a body scan, practice gratitude, and do focused breathing to check in and collect their thoughts.

This is my current favorite! I have this assembled on my door instead of a bulletin board, but in a space that I want to feel welcoming and like a home away from home, it creates exactly that vibe.

This bulletin board helps kids solve problems at recess! With a step by step guide, they can calm their bodies, talk things out, and find a solution to use in that small recess time frame!
