8 Fall Counseling Activities

1 – Pumpkin Spice: Choose to Be Nice!

In this classroom guidance lesson, students learn and acronym (SPICE) to help them remember ways they can show kindness to others! Then, make these adorable pumpkin spice foldables for students to write their plan for showing kindness or to describe how others have shown kindness to them! These make a perfect Fall bulletin board or door decoration.

2 – Kindness Leaf Activity

Last year when I was picking my son up from preschool, he found a lead on the ground that had a small heart drawn on it. It was such a nice little reminder, and I wanted to get my students involved in something similar! We found some nice leaves and wrote one word or drew one small symbol to spread some fall kindness. Students drew smiling emojis, hearts, and peace signs and wrote things like be you, you matter, and find joy. Then we released them back into nature for others to find. This is such a fun Fall counseling activity, and it’s so great to see students pick up the leaves around campus!

3 – Gratitude BINGO

Students love any kind of BINGO! Give them a gratitude BINGO card to complete throughout the week or month. They can complete a square each day, taking note of the things for which they are grateful in different areas of their lives.

4 – Gratitude Tree

Make a hallway, door, or bulletin board gratitude tree! Add a folder with blank leaves and a marker. Students can add their own gratitude leaves throughout the day or week and put them in another folder for the counselor to staple on the tree later.
