Week in Review: September 9-13, 2019

Highlights from the Week:

Monday:

  • Started check-in/check-out with 2 students
  • District refresher training on electronic records system process for 504s
  • Individual session to practice assertiveness
  • A few observations

Tuesday:

  • Check-in/check-out
  • Individual session
  • Catching up on ABC data logging
  • Sensitivity training: review how it doesn’t feel great when people point out how we’re different (used the book Where Oliver Fits)
  • First 504 meeting of the year!

Wednesday

  • Check-in/check-out
  • Individual session
  • Kindergarten social skills group session 2 (following rules)
  • 6th grade lunch group
  • 2nd grade classroom counseling lesson: practiced conversational skills for including people (read The Invisible Boy and then practiced using these strategies)

Thursday

  • Lots of responsive time in the morning
  • Kindergarten classroom counseling lesson: big deal/little deal using a lesson from my train-themed self regulation unit
  • Peer review meeting
  • Kindergarten friendship group

Friday

  • 3rd grade classroom counseling lesson on good sportsmanship (read Pig the Winner and then did my sportsmanship centers)
  • Kindergarten classroom counseling lesson: big deal/little deal using a lesson from my train-themed self regulation unit
  • Recess duty!
  • Individual session
  • Kindergarten responsive time
  • 1st grade family changes group
  • 1st grade classroom guidance lesson: deeper exploration of the sensitivity training mentioned before – we all fit and we can focus more on what we have in common than how we’re different (used Where Oliver Fits again)
  • 1st grade classroom guidance lesson (other class): same lesson
  • SST & eligibility meetings
