When the holidays roll around, I always want to do a little something for my students. While it isn’t feasible to get something for every student in the school (especially when you have ratios like 600:1!), I always try to give my small group and individual counseling students a small little gift just to spread some cheer (and I really do mean little!). These are simple holiday gift tags to attach to pencils, glow sticks, and sweet treats!
Glow Stick Gift Tag
I like to give out glow sticks at Halloween (because they’re sugar free and can be worn for safety while trick-or-treating!), and I had quite a few left over. Pair them with an adorable holiday light, and you’re good to go! I ordered this pack of 100 glow sticks on Amazon for under $10! It’s a great treat and price when you have outrageous ratios like mentioned above 🙂
Pencil Gift Tag
I am HERE for the cactus trend, and these holiday cacti are right up my alley. Use a point pun and pair this holiday gift tag with a pencil, and you’re all set! I always stock up on cute pencils when I find them in bulk at places like Target and Dollar Tree.
Candy Gift Tag
This holiday gift tag can really be paired with anything! I found these 3-packs of Gobstoppers after Halloween, and they sort of look like Christmas light to me, so that’s how I ended up with this combo. A glow stick would work well with this one too.
Lollipop Gift Tag
Several years ago, I made something similar to this for a few classes of Pre-K students, and they were a huge hit! I bought this adorable reindeer clipart on TpT and just hole-punched the nose to slide a lollipop through. Quick, easy, and adorable!
If you don’t have clipart and have some extra time (haha!), you can also make these using a gingerbread man cookie cutter. Just trace the cutter on brown construction paper, add googly eyes, draw on antlers, and you’re all set!
What about you? Do you give your counseling students a little something around the holidays? I’d love to see what you came up with to spread cheer to your students!
